You will see "Request information" only for schools CAAHEP or ABHES accredits, and it sends your details to that school; we might get paid. Other rows go to each school's own site. No school pays to get listed or to move up in rank. We used the CAAHEP and ABHES directories and IPEDS 2023-24 data on prices and graduates.

This list shows accreditation, prices and graduates; here is how to read it.
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself has been checked and approved by CAAHEP. You can take the CMA exam after finishing it to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES grants approval to the entire school. The school can confirm whether ABHES accreditation also covers its medical assisting program, so ask before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
The school is not listed by either group for medical assisting, but this is not a verdict on the school. A different agency might still accredit the college itself. For the CMA exam you must finish a CAAHEP or ABHES program. Other routes, such as work experience, are also accepted by the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams.
Price
Each school reports its 2023-24 tuition and fees, with books and supplies when it lists them. The figure covers the whole program, or a single year of full-time study (the local-student rate at public colleges). Each award the school offers shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS supplies these prices and graduates; it is a yearly U.S. Department of Education survey.
