Understanding this list: graduates, prices and accreditation
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself has been checked and approved by CAAHEP. Those who complete it may take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group includes the school for medical assisting, yet this does not judge the school. Another agency could still accredit the college. A CAAHEP or ABHES program is required for the CMA exam; other routes like work experience also work for the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams.
Price
Schools report tuition and fees for 2023-24, adding books and supplies if listed: costs cover the whole program or one year of full-time classes (the local student rate at public colleges). Each award a school lists carries the same yearly price.
Graduates
These students completed their programs between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS, an annual survey from the U.S. Department of Education, provides the price and graduate numbers.
