"Request information" shows only on schools CAAHEP or ABHES accredits; it sends your details there, and we may get paid. Links in other rows take you to the website of the school. Understanding this list: accreditation, costs and graduate counts
CAAHEP-accredited program
CAAHEP has reviewed and approved the medical assisting program itself. If you finish the program, you may take the CMA exam to earn the Certified Medical Assistant title.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group has this school on its medical assisting list; that alone doesn't say the school is good or bad. Another agency can still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams allow other paths like work experience.
Price
Schools report tuition and fees for 2023-24, including books and supplies if listed: either for the whole program or one year of full-time classes (local student rate at public colleges). Each award a school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS, an annual survey from the U.S. Department of Education, provides the price and graduate data.
