Only schools that CAAHEP or ABHES accredit show "Request information"; your request goes to that school, and we may be paid for it. The remaining rows send you to each school's own site. No school pays for a listing or a higher spot. Data comes from IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

Understanding this list: graduates, prices and accreditation
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself has been checked and approved by CAAHEP. After finishing, you can take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you plan on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
For medical assisting, neither group lists the school; this does not judge the school. Another agency might still accredit the college itself. A CAAHEP or ABHES program is what the CMA exam requires. Other routes, such as work experience, are also accepted by the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams.
Classes taken online
Coursework happens online; clinical hours always occur in person at the school or a clinic.
Price
These figures cover tuition and fees for 2023-24 plus books and supplies if the school lists them, reported as either the whole program cost or one year of full-time classes (the local student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These students finished between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS, a yearly survey from the U.S. Department of Education, provides the prices and graduate counts.
