You will see "Request information" only on schools CAAHEP or ABHES accredits; it sends your request to that school, and we may get paid. The other rows take you to the school website. No school pays to appear here or to move higher. We used IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

Learn how to use this list by checking accreditation, pricing, and data on graduates.
CAAHEP-accredited program
CAAHEP reviewed and approved the medical assisting program itself. You can take the CMA exam after finishing to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Before relying on the CMA exam, ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
The school is not listed by either group for medical assisting, yet this does not judge the school. Another agency may still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam; the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths like work experience.
Lessons are delivered online
While coursework happens online, clinical hours require in-person time at a clinic or the school.
Price
These are 2023-24 tuition and fees plus books and supplies if the school lists them, reported as either the whole program cost or one year of full-time classes (the local student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These graduates finished their programs between July 2023 and June 2024. The U.S. Department of Education runs IPEDS, a yearly survey providing these prices and graduate counts.
