"Request information" shows only for CAAHEP or ABHES accredited schools. We send your request there and may get paid. You will find links to individual school sites in the other rows. Not a single school pays for a spot on this list or a higher position. We used IPEDS 2023-24 for graduates and prices, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

Understanding this list: graduates, prices, and accreditation
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself has been checked and approved by CAAHEP. After finishing, people can take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES grants approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Both groups omit the school for medical assisting, which is not a judgment on the institution. Another agency might still accredit the college itself. A CAAHEP or ABHES program is required for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams allow other paths like work experience.
Price
Each school reports its 2023-24 tuition and fees, adding books and supplies when it lists them, either for the whole program or for a single year of full-time classes (at public colleges, the rate local students pay). Where a price is per year, every award the school lists costs that same yearly amount.
Graduates
These are students finishing between July 2023 and June 2024. We get price and graduate data from IPEDS, an annual survey that the U.S. Department of Education runs.
