You will see "Request information" only for schools with CAAHEP or ABHES accreditation; this sends your details to them, and we might get paid. The remaining rows point to each school's own site. No school pays to get listed or to move up. The CAAHEP and ABHES directories are sources, as is IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates.

This list covers accreditation, prices and graduates; here is how to read it.
CAAHEP-accredited program
After checking the medical assisting program itself, CAAHEP gave its approval. Anyone finishing it can take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
The entire school gets approved by ABHES. Before you rely on the CMA exam, ask the school if its medical assisting program is included as well.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group includes the school for medical assisting, yet this is not a judgment on the school. A different agency can still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam; the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths like work experience.
Price
You will see 2023-24 tuition and fees from each school, with books and supplies included when listed: figures reflect the whole program or one year of full-time classes (rates for local public college students). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are the students who completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. Cost and graduate data come from IPEDS, an annual survey run by the U.S. Department of Education.
