You'll only see "Request information" at schools CAAHEP or ABHES accredits. It passes your request to that school, and we may be paid. The link in any other row points to the school's own website. No payment from any school buys a listing or better position. We used CAAHEP and ABHES directories along with IPEDS 2023-24 graduate and price figures.

What the list means: accreditation, prices and graduates
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself is checked and approved by CAAHEP. Once you finish, you're able to take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Before you rely on the CMA exam, ask whether the school's medical assisting program is covered as well.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group includes the school for medical assisting, but that does not judge the school itself. Another agency might still accredit the college. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths like work experience.
Price
These are tuition and fees for 2023-24, including books and supplies if the school lists them, reported as either the whole program or one year of full-time classes (the local student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their program between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS, an annual survey from the U.S. Department of Education, provides the prices and graduate counts.
