You will see "Request information" only for schools with CAAHEP or ABHES accreditation; this sends your details to them, and we might get paid. Links in other rows go to each school's site. No school pays to get listed or move up. We used IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

What the list means: accreditation, prices and graduates
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself is what CAAHEP has checked and approved. To become a Certified Medical Assistant, graduates can take the CMA exam.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES approves the entire school. Before you plan on the CMA exam, check with the school that this approval also covers its medical assisting program.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
You will not find the school on either list for medical assisting; that is no judgment on the school. Another agency may still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams allow other paths like work experience.
Price
For 2023-24, each school reports its own tuition and fees, plus books and supplies if it lists them. The figure covers the whole program or a year of full-time study (local-student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists has the same yearly price.
Graduates
This counts students who completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. This list uses IPEDS, a yearly U.S. Department of Education survey, for prices and graduates.
