You'll see "Request information" only on schools CAAHEP or ABHES accredits; it sends your request there, and we may be paid. Other rows go to the school site. No school pays a fee to appear on this list or to move higher. We used IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates, along with directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

How to read this list: accreditation, prices, graduates.
CAAHEP-accredited program
CAAHEP reviewed and approved the medical assisting program itself. You can become a Certified Medical Assistant if you finish and then take the CMA exam.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you rely on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
For medical assisting, neither group lists the school; this is not a verdict on the school. Another agency may still accredit the college. For the CMA exam, a CAAHEP or ABHES program is required; other routes like work experience also work for RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams.
Classes held online
Clinical hours always occur in person at the school or a clinic, though coursework happens online.
Price
Tuition and fees for 2023-24 include books and supplies if listed, reported as a whole program cost or a yearly rate for full-time local public college students. Each award the school lists has the same yearly price.
Graduates
Completion dates for these students range from July 2023 through June 2024. The U.S. Department of Education runs IPEDS, a yearly survey providing these prices and graduate counts.
