You will see "Request information" only on schools with CAAHEP or ABHES accreditation; we send your request to that school and may get paid. Links in other rows go straight to each school's website. No school pays to appear here or move up. Data comes from IPEDS 2023-24 on prices and graduates, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

This list covers accreditation, costs, and graduate counts; here is how to read it.
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself was checked and approved by CAAHEP. Once you finish, you can take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES approves the entire school. Don't assume the CMA exam is open to you. Ask the school whether the medical assisting program is covered too.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
For medical assisting, neither group lists the school; this is not a verdict on the school. A different agency might still accredit the college. To sit for the CMA exam you need a program that CAAHEP or ABHES accredits. Other routes, like work experience, also work for the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams.
Classes held online
While coursework is online, clinical hours always take place in person at the school or a clinic.
Price
As each school reports them, figures cover tuition and fees for 2023-24 plus books and supplies when listed: for the whole program or one year of full-time classes (local student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These students finished between July 2023 and June 2024. Our price and graduate numbers come from IPEDS, a yearly survey run by the U.S. Department of Education.
