Schools for medical assistants in District of Columbia

No school gives money to get listed or rise in rank. The sources are IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates, along with the directories of CAAHEP and ABHES.

This list shows accreditation, prices and graduates; here is how to read it.
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself was checked and approved by CAAHEP. You can take the CMA exam after finishing to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES grants approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is also covered by accreditation before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group includes the school for medical assisting, but that does not judge the school. Another agency might still accredit the college itself. A CAAHEP or ABHES program is required for the CMA exam, while RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams allow other paths like work experience.
Price
The 2023-24 numbers are what the schools themselves report: tuition and fees, including books and supplies when listed. Each price is for the whole program or a year of full-time classes (the local-student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists has the same yearly price.
Graduates
These figures cover students who completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS, an annual U.S. Department of Education survey, provides the graduate and price data.
