CertificateCAAHEP (program)Ask the school for the price–Request information

We may get paid when "Request information" sends your request to a school CAAHEP or ABHES accredits; it appears only there. The remaining rows take you to the website run by the school. No school pays us to appear here or to move higher on the list. Price and graduate data come from IPEDS 2023-24, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

What do accreditation, prices and graduates mean on this list?
CAAHEP-accredited program
After checking, CAAHEP approved the actual medical assisting program. You may take the CMA exam after finishing to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES grants approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
The school does not appear on either list for medical assisting, yet this is not a verdict on the school. Another agency might still accredit the college itself. A CAAHEP or ABHES program is required for the CMA exam; other routes like work experience also work for the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams.
Classes held online
You complete coursework online, but must do clinical hours in person at either the school or a clinic.
Price
Prices shown cover 2023-24 tuition, fees, books and supplies if listed by the school: either for the whole program or one year of full-time classes (local student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their program between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS, an annual survey from the U.S. Department of Education, provides the price and graduate data.
