CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself was checked and approved by CAAHEP. Once you finish it, you can take the CMA exam, which is how you become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Before relying on the CMA exam, ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered as well.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither organization includes the school on its medical assisting list, yet that absence is not a verdict on the school. Another agency may still accredit the college. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam; the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths like work experience.
Classes held online
You complete coursework online, while clinical hours always occur in person at the school or a clinic.
Price
Each school reports tuition and fees for 2023-24, including books and supplies if listed: either the whole program cost or one year of full-time classes (local student rate at public colleges). The yearly price stays the same for every award the school lists.
Graduates
These students completed their programs between July 2023 and June 2024. The U.S. Department of Education runs IPEDS, a yearly survey providing these prices and graduate counts.
