Schools for medical assistants in Montana

No school on this list pays to get listed or ranked higher. Our sources: IPEDS 2023-24 (prices and graduates), plus the CAAHEP and ABHES directories.

Understanding this list: graduates, costs and accreditation status
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself was checked and approved by CAAHEP. Once you finish it, you can take the CMA exam, which is how you become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES approves the school as a whole. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
The school appears on neither list for medical assisting; this does not judge the school. Another agency might still accredit the college itself. A CAAHEP or ABHES program is required for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams allow other paths like work experience.
Classes taken online
While coursework is online, you must complete clinical hours in person at the school or a clinic.
Price
As each school reports them, costs for 2023-24 cover tuition and fees, plus books and supplies if listed, for the whole program or one year of full-time classes (what local students pay at public colleges). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. The U.S. Department of Education gathers the graduate and price data through IPEDS, its annual survey.
