Understanding this list: graduates, prices and accreditation
- CAAHEP-accredited program
- CAAHEP approved this specific medical assisting program after review. Those who complete it may take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
- ABHES-accredited school
- ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is included before you rely on taking the CMA exam.
- Not CAAHEP or ABHES
- Neither agency lists the school for medical assisting, yet this is not a judgment on the school. Another agency might still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam, but the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also recognize other options like work experience.
- Price
- Schools report tuition and fees for 2023-24, adding books and supplies if listed: either for the whole program or one year of full-time classes (local student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
- Graduates
- These are students who completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. Data on prices and graduates come from IPEDS, an annual survey that the U.S. Department of Education runs.
