You see "Request information" only on schools CAAHEP or ABHES accredits; that link sends your request to the school, and we may get paid. The other rows take you to the school website. No school pays us to appear here or to move higher in the list. We used IPEDS 2023-24 (prices and graduates) along with CAAHEP and ABHES directories.

Understanding the list: graduates, costs and accreditation status
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself has been checked and approved by CAAHEP. Completing the program lets you take the CMA exam to earn Certified Medical Assistant status.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered as well before you rely on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
The school appears on no list for medical assisting from either group; this is not a verdict on the school. Another agency might still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths like work experience.
Price
Each school reports its 2023-24 tuition and fees, adding books and supplies when it lists them, either for the whole program or for a single year of full-time classes (at public colleges, the rate local students pay). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their program between July 2023 and June 2024. Cost and graduate numbers come from IPEDS, an annual survey that the U.S. Department of Education runs.
