How to read this list: prices, graduates and accreditation
- CAAHEP-accredited program
- The medical assisting program itself was checked and approved by CAAHEP. Those who complete it may take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
- ABHES-accredited school
- The whole school gets approved by ABHES. You should ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you count on the CMA exam.
- Not CAAHEP or ABHES
- For medical assisting, neither group lists the school; this is not a verdict on the school. It is still possible for the college itself to be accredited by another agency. A program with CAAHEP or ABHES accreditation is required for the CMA exam. For the RMA, CCMA and NCMA, other routes, such as work experience, are also accepted.
- Price
- Each school reports its own 2023-24 tuition and fees, with books and supplies where the school lists them. Figures cover the whole program or a year of full-time study; public colleges use their local-student rate. For each award the school lists, the yearly price is the same.
- Graduates
- These students completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. The U.S. Department of Education runs a yearly survey, IPEDS, which gives us prices and graduates.
