Schools for medical assistants in South Dakota

You'll see "Request information" only where CAAHEP or ABHES accredits the school, and it sends your request there; we may be paid for it. You will find links to school websites in the other rows. No school pays to get listed or move higher. We used IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

Accreditation, prices and graduates: how to read this list
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself was checked and approved by CAAHEP. Finishing it lets people take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the whole school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
For medical assisting, neither group lists the school; this is not a verdict on the school. A different agency might still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams allow other paths like work history.
Price
As each school reports them, costs for 2023-24 cover tuition and fees, plus books and supplies if listed, for the whole program or one year of full-time classes (what local students pay at public colleges). If the price is for a year, each award the school lists costs the same.
Graduates
Between July 2023 and June 2024, these students finished their studies. The U.S. Department of Education supplies the price and graduate data through its yearly IPEDS survey.
