DiplomaCAAHEP (program)Ask the school for the price–Request information

"Request information" shows up only for schools CAAHEP or ABHES accredits. That button sends your request to the school, and we may get paid. Links in other rows go to the school's website. No school pays us to appear here or to move higher in the list. We used IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

Use this guide to understand accreditation, costs and graduate numbers in the list.
CAAHEP-accredited program
CAAHEP has reviewed and approved the medical assisting program itself. Those who complete it can take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES approves the entire school. Before you rely on the CMA exam, ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered as well.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group lists this school for medical assisting, and that is no judgment of the school. Another agency may still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam; the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths, like work experience.
Price
Each school reports its tuition and fees for 2023-24, plus books and supplies when it lists them. A figure covers the whole program or one year of full-time classes (what local students pay at public colleges). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their program between July 2023 and June 2024. Cost and graduate counts come from IPEDS, an annual survey that the U.S. Department of Education runs.
