CertificateCAAHEP (program)Ask the school for the price–Request information

"Request information" shows up only where CAAHEP or ABHES accredits the school; it sends your request there, and we may get paid. The other rows take you to the website run by the school. No school pays us to appear here or to move higher in the list. Prices and graduate counts come from IPEDS 2023-24; directories from CAAHEP and ABHES were also used.

Understanding the list: graduates, costs and accreditation status.
CAAHEP-accredited program
After checking the medical assisting program itself, CAAHEP gave its approval. Those who finish can take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither organization lists the school for medical assisting, but that does not judge the school. Another agency might still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths like work experience.
Classes held online
You complete coursework online, while clinical hours always occur in person at a clinic or school site.
Price
Schools report 2023-24 tuition, fees, and books plus supplies when the school lists them, as the whole program cost or one year of full-time classes (local student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists shares the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their program between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS, an annual survey from the U.S. Department of Education, provides the price and graduate data.
