Only schools that CAAHEP or ABHES accredits show "Request information"; the link passes your request to that school, and we may be paid for it. Links in other rows go straight to the school website. No school pays money to appear on this list or to move higher. Data comes from IPEDS 2023-24 (prices and graduates) plus CAAHEP and ABHES directories.

Accreditation, prices and graduates: how to read the list
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself was checked and approved by CAAHEP. You can take the CMA exam after finishing to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES approves the entire school. You should ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before counting on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group includes the school for medical assisting, but that does not mean the school is bad. A different agency could still accredit the college. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths like work experience.
Classes held online
You do coursework online, but must complete clinical hours in person at a clinic or school.
Price
For 2023-24, each school reports its own tuition and fees, plus books and supplies if it lists them. A figure covers the whole program or one year of full-time classes; public colleges show what local students pay. Each award the school lists has the same yearly price.
Graduates
These students finished between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS, a yearly U.S. Department of Education survey, provides the prices and graduates.
