Only schools accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES show "Request information"; it sends your request to that school, and we may be paid. The other rows take you to the website run by the school. No school pays us to appear here or to move higher in the list. We used IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

Accreditation, prices and graduates: how to read this list
CAAHEP-accredited program
It's the medical assisting program itself that CAAHEP has checked and approved. After finishing it, you can take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES gives approval to the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before you count on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group lists this school for medical assisting, and that is no judgment of the school. Another agency might still accredit the college itself. You need a CAAHEP or ABHES program for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths like work experience.
Classes held online
Classes run online, but you always do clinical hours in person, either at a clinic or at the school.
Price
As each school reports them, costs for 2023-24 cover tuition and fees, plus books and supplies if listed, for the whole program or one year of full-time classes (what local students pay at public colleges). Each award the school lists uses the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. The prices and graduate counts here come from the yearly IPEDS survey that the U.S. Department of Education runs.
