"Request information" shows up only where CAAHEP or ABHES accredits the school, and it sends your request there; we may get paid. Links in other rows take you straight to the school website. No school pays to get listed or move up. We used IPEDS 2023-24 for prices and graduates, plus directories from CAAHEP and ABHES.

Understanding this list: accreditation, prices and graduate counts
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself was checked and approved by CAAHEP. You can take the CMA exam after finishing to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES approves the entire school. Ask the school if the medical assisting program itself is covered too before you rely on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
The school is not listed by either group for medical assisting, yet that is no verdict on it. Another agency may still accredit the college itself. A CAAHEP or ABHES program is required for the CMA exam, while the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other paths like work experience.
Price
For 2023-24, schools report tuition and fees for the whole program or one year of full-time classes, adding books and supplies if listed; public colleges show the local student rate. Each award the school lists has the same yearly price.
Graduates
These are students who completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. Price and graduate data come from IPEDS, a yearly U.S. Department of Education survey.
