Only schools accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES show "Request information". When you use it, your request goes to that school, and we may get paid. Links in other rows go to the school's website. No school pays to get listed or move up. We used CAAHEP and ABHES directories along with IPEDS 2023-24 graduate and price data.

Learn what accreditation, prices and graduate data mean on this list.
CAAHEP-accredited program
CAAHEP checked the medical assisting program itself and gave approval. Those who complete it can take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES approves the entire school. Check with the school that its medical assisting program is also covered by accreditation before you plan on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group lists this school for medical assisting, and that is no judgment of the school. Another agency can still accredit the college itself. For the CMA exam, you need a CAAHEP or ABHES program; other options like work experience also work for the RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams.
Price
Each school reports tuition and fees for 2023-24, adding books and supplies if listed: either for the whole program or one year of full-time classes (local student rate at public colleges). Each award the school lists has the same yearly price.
Graduates
This count includes students completing their studies from July 2023 through June 2024. The U.S. Department of Education runs IPEDS, a yearly survey providing these prices and graduate counts.
