Reading this list: accreditation, prices and graduate counts
CAAHEP-accredited program
The medical assisting program itself has been checked and approved by CAAHEP. If you finish it, you can take the CMA exam and become a Certified Medical Assistant.
ABHES-accredited school
ABHES approves the entire school. Ask the school if its medical assisting program is covered too before relying on the CMA exam.
Not CAAHEP or ABHES
Neither group lists this school for medical assisting, and that is no judgment of the school. Another agency can still accredit the college itself. The CMA exam requires a CAAHEP or ABHES program, but RMA, CCMA and NCMA exams also allow other routes such as work experience.
Price
For 2023-24, this is the tuition and fees each school reports. It covers the whole program or one year of full-time classes, and books and supplies are included when a school lists them. Public colleges show the rate for local students. Each award the school lists has the same yearly price.
Graduates
These students completed their studies between July 2023 and June 2024. IPEDS, a yearly U.S. Department of Education survey, provides the prices and graduate counts.
